The 2002 Palmleo 2583 is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from the St. Helena Appellation, a fertile region along the Napa Valley floor renown for producing exceptional Bordeaux varietals especially Cabernet Sauvignon.
With nearly four years in French Oak barrels, 30% of which are new, Palmleo 2583 exhibits a roundness and balance primarily associated with much older Cabernets. The winemaker, William “Bill” Ballentine, creates consistently elegant wines that maintain your interest throughout a meal and enhance the food with layers of flavor including chocolate, blueberry, black cherry and vanilla. The resulting wine demonstrates unusual opulence, a structured yet soft and subtle finish, and great balance reflecting its unique St. Helena provenance.
Bill Ballentine, under the William Cole Vineyards label, also produces a limited production Cabernet Sauvignon (280 cases). Prior to founding William Cole Vineyards, Bill was at St. Clement where the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon he blended was named #25 in Wine Spectator's list of “The Best 100 Wines In The World”. Bill also consults for several boutique wineries including Astrale e Terra, Tom Scott Vineyards, and Varozza Vineyards.
Palmleo is offering an exceptional opportunity to own a wine not distributed to the general public. We work with outstanding winemakers who combine nature’s bounty with their own artistry to bring small quantity and/or private label wines to consumers and collectors for their own cellars. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for years to come, the choice is yours. ($57 / bottle or $684 / case). |
